Opening region-locked content
A lot of the internet is invisible depending on where you are. Streaming libraries have different catalogues in different countries. Online stores show different prices or won't ship to your address. News sites, games and services are available in some regions and not others.
TYO Reach is built to solve this — quickly, in the one browser you pick, without rerouting your whole computer.
How it works
When you switch Reach on, your chosen browser's traffic goes out through our gateway rather than directly from your connection. To the sites you visit, you appear to be coming from the gateway — so content that was invisible to your location becomes reachable.
Switch Reach off and your browser goes straight back to your normal connection. Nothing else on your computer is affected at any point.
What you can reach
- Streaming services — access different regional libraries on services that vary by country, or reach platforms unavailable in your region.
- Online stores — shop from stores that block or restrict international visitors.
- News and media — read publications behind regional blocks.
- Games and platforms — access early launches, region-specific stores, or services not yet available where you are.
- Research and work — reach sites, tools and resources that your network or ISP restricts.
Why not just use a VPN?
A VPN reroutes everything on your device — every app, every background service — and it's running all the time. For opening a website in a browser, that's far more than you need.
Reach routes only the one browser you choose. Your other browsers, apps, updates and background services keep using your normal connection. There's no heavy client, no kernel driver, and nothing running in the background when you switch it off.
How to check it's working
Open myip.tyo.com.au in the browser Reach is set up for. With Reach on you'll see our gateway address. Switch it off and you'll see your own. If the two differ, Reach is working.
