Installation guide
Most of the time TYO Reach installs and runs without any fuss. On Windows, though, you'll meet a couple of standard security prompts the first time — here's exactly what they are and what to click.
On macOS, Linux and Android these Windows prompts don't apply — just follow Getting started. See Android below for the app screen.
Windows
1. "Are you sure you want to run this app?"
Because the app is newly published, Windows SmartScreen may show a blue warning asking whether you're sure you want to run it.

- Click More info.
- Then click Run anyway.
The app is safe — this prompt appears for any app Windows hasn't seen many times yet, and it goes away once the app is well established.
2. "Windows Defender Firewall has blocked some features of this app"
The first time you switch the proxy on, Windows Defender Firewall pops up to say it has blocked some features of the app. This is expected — the app needs to accept the local connection from the browser it routes.

- Tick Public networks.
- Click Allow access.
You only need to do this once. TYO Reach only routes the browser you choose — see How Reach differs from a VPN.
You're up and running
Once you've allowed access, the proxy starts. The TYO Reach icon in the bottom-right of your taskbar (the system tray) shows whether it's on or off:
On — your chosen browser is routed through TYO Reach:

Off — back to your normal connection:

After this first run, switching the proxy on and off works without any further warnings.
Android
On Android there are no security prompts to clear. Install the TYO Reach app, sign in, and you'll land on the main screen:
Tap the Reach Proxy toggle at the top to turn the proxy on or off. The screen also shows your gateway and connection speed, the signed-in account and plan, your monthly data usage, and quick links to the Dashboard, Upgrade to Pro, Sign Out and View Logs.
