Why selective routing beats a full tunnel for travel
Most travel VPNs route everything through a remote server. That creates problems Reach avoids by design.

Does Reach give me an Australian IP so I can access Australian banking or streaming while travelling?
No. TYO Reach's gateway does not exit from Australia, so it will not unlock services that specifically geo-check for an Australian IP. What Reach gives you is a single stable exit IP for the accounts you route through it — useful for reducing "new location" security friction while you move between countries, but not a way to appear to be in Australia (or any other specific country).
Will this stop every security challenge?
It reduces the most common trigger — a login suddenly coming from an unfamiliar country — but there's no guarantee. Providers use other signals too, and fraud policies vary and can change. Most travellers see meaningfully fewer challenges once their routed accounts settle on one IP for the length of the trip.
Does Reach work in countries with internet restrictions?
Reach connects to the gateway over standard HTTPS, which passes through most hotel, airport, and mobile networks that allow web browsing. For networks with active filtering or deep packet inspection, a WebSocket tunnel mode is available which adds an extra layer. Coverage in heavily restricted environments (such as mainland China) is ongoing — check the docs for current status before travelling.
Can I use Reach on multiple devices at the same time?
Yes — one account works across all your devices simultaneously. You can be logged in on your phone and laptop at the same time, and both will route through the same gateway.
What if the hotel Wi-Fi blocks the gateway?
If the gateway connection fails, Reach fails open — routed traffic goes direct rather than failing entirely. You won't be cut off from the internet; you just won't have the stable exit IP for that session. Switching to mobile data usually resolves hotel-level blocking.
How much data do I typically need?

What happens when I get home?
