TYO Reach won't switch on
You click Enable All (or the toggle in the mobile app) and the proxy stays at Proxy: OFF, or the tray keeps offering Sign in to TYO Reach.
What it means
The client won't route traffic until it has a signed-in account with an active plan. If sign-in didn't complete, your session expired, or the account has nothing to route with, the toggle can't turn on.
Fixes, in order
- Sign in. If the tray shows Sign in to TYO Reach, click it. Your browser opens to confirm; when it shows Signed in to TYO Reach — you can close this tab, go back to the tray and click Enable All. On Windows there's also an in-app sign-in that doesn't need the browser hand-off.
- Finish two-factor promptly. If you see Your 2FA code expired — please sign in again, start the sign-in over and enter the code (or approve the push notification on your phone) straight away.
- Check your plan is active. Open your dashboard: a lapsed subscription or a cancelled plan leaves the account with nothing to route. Team members should check they're still in the group — an offboarded member can't connect.
- Check your allowance. A personal plan at its cap stays on in limited mode rather than refusing to start, but the tray will show Data limit reached. See Data limits and limited mode.
- Restart the client. Quit Reach from the tray and launch it again; on Windows and macOS it starts at login by default.
- Update. The tray menu's version line tells you what you're on; grab the latest from the download page if you're behind.
Common questions
It says signed in, but the toggle still won't turn on
Sign out and back in from the tray. That refreshes your account details (plan, group membership, gateways) — a stale copy after a plan change is the usual cause.
Reach turns on, then off again by itself
That's limited mode or a plan check, not a crash: look for a notification. If the tray shows nothing, quit and relaunch, then contact us with the version number.
Do I need admin rights to switch it on?
No. Reach installs and runs at user level on every platform; the first-run prompts are covered in the installation guide.
